St. Joseph's Carmelite Monastery, officially established on July 16, 1988 as St. Joseph's House of Prayer by its founder Fr. Joseph Zawada, O.C.D.,who celebrated the first Holy Mass with approximately 72 in attendance. The original chapel was in a mobile home and could not hold more than 15 people.
Eventually, an old farmhouse on the property was renovated to provide a social hall for the growing flock.

Since its humble beginnings, St. Joseph's has continued to grow and a new monastery cloister has been constructed to house the community members. A new free-standing Chapel that seats 130 people was blessed on February 2, 1995. The Rosary Garden was completed and dedicated in May 2004.

Thanks to our benefactors and friends, the Stations of the Cross were dedicated and blessed on October 13, 2000 in conjunction with the Jubilee Year.

With your prayers and generosity, we will be able to add an additional shrine, a pilgrimage house and a larger social hall.
